Open House Tours (great for families and visitors of all ages) are held on Wednesdays in July and August at noon and last around an hour.  Tours are FREE and do not require any advance registration, but please show up a few minutes before noon. Groups with more than 5 individuals, please email ar@acua.com or call 609-272-6950.

Come by for a visit to get up close to a wind turbine and see how dirty water from houses and businesses is cleaned each day! ACUA is proud to responsibly manage waste generated in Atlantic County, which means at this site, our staff work around the clock to treat millions of gallons of wastewater each day.  Visitors will learn how wastewater is treated using renewable energy from wind turbines and solar panels.  At the end, you can throw on a hardhat and get up close to a wind turbine.  You’ll also have the opportunity to take a peek inside of a wastewater treatment basin!

Things to keep in mind for your visit:

  • Parking is beneath the solar panels and the building’s main entrance is behind the flagpoles.
  • If the front gate is closed, please call the number posted and an operator will let you in.
  • Open House Tours begin promptly at noon in the main lobby – plan to arrive a few minutes early.
  • There is some light walking around the site.  Please wear closed-toe shoes and consider bringing sunblock, bug spray, and a water bottle.
  • Bathroom access is limited. If possible, use the restroom before arriving.

ACUA’s Wastewater Treatment Facility is located at 1801 Absecon Blvd. Atlantic City, NJ.
