Summer Wind Farm Tours Begin July 6

Visiting the Atlantic City area this summer? Stop by for a FREE TOUR of the Jersey-Atlantic Wind Farm!

ACUA is offering Summer Open House Tours of the Wind Farm at the Atlantic County Utilities Authority Wastewater Treatment Facility every Monday and Friday at 12 p.m. between July 6 and August 31.

No reservations are required, but please arrive on time!

Remember to take pictures on your tour and share them using #ACUAtours.

Who is this tour for?
Everyone! Your tour of the Facility will be geared to the age level and specific interests of your group. Note: we welcome all, but this tour may be more appropriate for kids age 8 and up.

What will you see there?
Right here in New Jersey, ACUA’s Wastewater Treatment Facility is the largest hybrid wind and solar powered treatment facility in the world! The wind farm is the first commercial development of its kind in the state, as well as the first coastal and urban wind farm in the nation.

Between ACUA’s wind and solar projects on site, a significant amount of completely renewable energy is produced each day. The really exciting part? You can get an up close and personal view of the wind turbines (each measuring more than 380 ft from the ground to the blade’s tip), see 500 kilowatts worth of solar arrays, and learn how we treat wastewater.
Your tour will last about 1 hour.

How to get there
(from Atlantic City)

- Travel West on Rt 30 (Absecon Blvd.)

- When you reach the facility, pass through the security gate (use call box on left if gate is closed)

- Park under the solar canopy
- Go to the building to the left of the parking area; Visitor’s entrance is near the flagpole
