Indonesian Delegation to Tour ACUA Wastewater Operation in Atlantic City and Solid Waste Facilities in Egg Harbor Township

ACUA will host a group of Indonesia officials who are visiting the U.S. as part of a U.S. State Department sponsored visit. The group’s focus is energy from waste, sustainable cities, and environmental regulation and enforcement. The group includes members of the government, non-profit and business communities.

Who: Indonesian professionals participating in the U.S. Department of State’s International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP). This program sponsors short-term visits to the United States for current and emerging foreign leaders in a variety of fields experience this country firsthand and cultivate lasting relationships with their American counterparts. Professional meetings reflect the participants’ professional interests and support the foreign policy goals of the United States.

What: The visitors will spend an afternoon visiting ACUA and will learn about ACUA's innovative practices for waste management and will learn how ACUA incorporates the production and use of renewable energy and alternative fuel vehicles in its practices.

When: Thursday, June 12, 2014 at 2:30 p.m.

Where: The group will meet at ACUA’s Environmental Park at 6700 Delilah Road in Egg Harbor Township before proceeding onto ACUA’s wastewater treatment facility at 1801 Absecon Boulevard (Route 30) in Atlantic City.

Why: To examine public-private partnerships for the development of clean energy and alternative fuel solutions.
