The Atlantic County Utilities Authority (ACUA) Board of Directors has appointed Joseph C. Pantalone, of Hammonton, NJ as the vice president of the wastewater division. Mr. Pantalone served most recently as the engineering department head/human resource director for Adams, Rehmann and Heggan (ARH) Associates in Hammonton, NJ, a civil engineering and planning firm serving both municipal and county governments, a position he held for more than 20 years.

“We are delighted that Mr. Pantalone will be joining the ACUA,” said Richard S. Dovey, Atlantic County Utilities Authority president. “Joe knows the wastewater business in NJ and is familiar with most of the 13 municipalities and the Atlantic City Sewerage Company that are part of the ACUA wastewater system. He knows how to lead and manage a large organization and how important compliance with environmental requirements is in this industry,” Dovey said.
There are 14 participating communities serviced by the ACUA’s 40 million-gallon-per-day wastewater treatment facility. These include: Absecon, Atlantic City, Brigantine, Egg Harbor City, Egg Harbor Township, Galloway Township, Hamilton Township, Linwood, Longport, Margate, Northfield, Pleasantville, Somers Point and Ventnor.
Prior to joining Adams Rehmann and Heggan, Mr. Pantalone served as the executive director of the Hamilton Township Municipal Utilities Authority in Mays Landing from 1981 through 1988.
Mr. Pantalone is a graduate of James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia where he received both a B.S. in Psychology/Sociology and an M.A. in Personnel Administration.
“I have the utmost respect for the people who administer and operate the ACUA facilities,” said Pantalone. As Department Head for ARH, and former Executive Director of HTMUA, I’ve had the privilege of working alongside ACUA personnel on projects, such as the Coastal Interceptor Project, and have remained associated with the ACUA through my role with ARH,” said Pantalone.
Mr. Pantalone currently serves on the ACUA’s groundwater advisory committee and is a member of Atlantic County’s Solid Waste Advisory Council.
