Volunteers remove seven tons of debris from Route 30

Volunteers removed more than seven tons of debris and litter along Route 30 Friday afternoon, May 17. Sponsored by the Atlantic County Utilities Authority, the cleanup represents the first Atlantic County state highway to be adopted under the state Adopt-A-Highway program. The ACUA was joined in its effort by the Absecon-based volunteer organization, Your Choice the People's Choice.

"With Memorial Day weekend just around the corner, we wanted to do our part to clean up this major gateway into Atlantic City," said ACUA President Rick Dovey. "We were thrilled to be joined by Your Choice the People's Choice. Without their support, we would not have been as successful as we were," Dovey added.

Any groups interested in adopting a portion of either Route 30 or 40 entering Atlantic City, or anyone interested in adopting a county roadway, are encouraged to contact Rebecca Turygan at 609-272-6950.
