|The Atlantic County Utilities Authority (ACUA) has again been named one of the “100 Best Fleets” in the 2012 “100 Best Fleets Program,” which recognizes peak performing fleet operations in North America and encourages ever-increasing levels of performance improvement within the industry. Thanks to all the staff involved in the ongoing effort to improve our fleet, ACUA has again been identified as one of the 100 Best Fleets; demonstrating outstanding operations for others to emulate and promoting ever-increasing levels of productivity and operational effectiveness.|
The 100 Best Fleets application is comprehensive, evaluating areas including Accountability, Use of Technology and Information, Collaboration, Creativity, Celebration, Evidence of a High Trust Culture, Performance Recognition, Doing It Right the First Time, Quick Efficient Turnaround, Competitive Pricing, Staff Development, and Resource Stewardship.
“When the ACUA first applied to the program in 2011, the application offered an opportunity to review current practices and policies and to look for ways to improve,” ACUA president Rick Dovey explained. “The application helped us to hone our own fleet program, and it was an honor to be included in the ranking in 2011, and again this year.”
Using the 100 Best Fleets Program, ACUA was able to benchmark the ACUA’s fleet operations and to identify areas of improvement. In 2012, ACUA was again the only representative from New Jersey placing 91st in the 100 Best Fleets Program.
