L. Petitt is Chief Engineer and Department Head of Centralized Maintenance for the Atlantic County Utilities Authority
(ACUA) -- a position he has held for more than 25 years. Mr. Petitt is
responsible for the planning, design, permitting, and construction of
infrastructure for ACUA’s Wastewater and Solid Waste Divisions. He also
oversees the Centralized Maintenance Department, which consists of fleet,
buildings, grounds, mechanical and electrical maintenance. During his tenure at
ACUA, Petitt has overseen more than $140 million in capital improvements.

years and managed a consulting engineering company in Millville, NJ, for six
Petitt is a member of several engineering, construction and environmental organizations, including the American Institute of Architects, America Society of Civil Engineers, American Water Works Association and Water Environmental Federation. He currently serves on the Drexel University Goodwin College Advisory Council. He is the recipient of the “Twenty Year Achievement” and “Key-D” awards from Drexel University and previously served as President of the “Mary S. Irick Drexel Society,” which is comprised of prominent alumni.
Petitt holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Drexel
University and an Associates of Arts degree in Math and Science from Cumberland
County College. He is a licensed
Professional Engineer, a Registered Architect, and a Professional Planner.
Petitt resides in Milmay, NJ, with his wife Susan. He has two children, Matthew
