A state-of-the-art landfill, recycling center, composting facility and collection fleet are located at the ACUA Environmental Park in Egg Harbor Township.
ACUA operates a 40 million gallon-per-day wastewater facility in Atlantic City, NJ, which is powered by renewable energy.
We are committed to seeking out the most sustainable and effective technologies to power our facilities and operations.
One thing all ACUA employees have in common is a love for the environment. By day, you can find us collecting waste at the curb, cleaning wastewater that leaves your home or planning for the future of waste disposal. By night, we may be planning green projects in our communities or reading up on environmental issues.
We’ve partnered with the Atlantic County Library System to bring you our staff’s favorite environmental reads. Look for these books on display and the accompanying bookmark at a local branch near you throughout the month of January.
The ACUA is fitted with a landfill gas to energy collection system that prevents gas generated inside the landfill from escaping into the atmosphere. To project helps us (1) combat odors and (2) produce energy that is used to power the entire Environmental Park facility.
