A state-of-the-art landfill, recycling center, composting facility and collection fleet are located at the ACUA Environmental Park in Egg Harbor Township.
ACUA operates a 40 million gallon-per-day wastewater facility in Atlantic City, NJ, which is powered by renewable energy.
We are committed to seeking out the most sustainable and effective technologies to power our facilities and operations.
Water is a finite resource.
Water sustains human life.
Here are 10 ways you can honor water as if your life depends on it (it does).
One thing all ACUA employees have in common is a love for the environment. By day, you can find us collecting waste at the curb, cleaning wastewater that leaves your home or planning for the future of waste disposal. By night, we may be planning green projects in our communities or reading up on environmental issues.
We’ve partnered with the Atlantic County Library System to bring you our staff’s favorite environmental reads. Look for these books on display and the accompanying bookmark at a local branch near you throughout the month of January.
Americans produce approximately 25 percent more household waste during the holidays than the rest of the year, and that number does not include food. This, combined with knowing the environmental consequences that come with mass consumerism, increased travel, and food waste, may make any environmentalist want to shrug off celebrating the holidays all together.
Before you say “bah humbug,” we suggest you meet our friends, the Ghosts of Waste Present, Past and Future.
